MySQL founder's appeal for keeping the database out of Oracle's hand
Michael ‘Monty’ Widenius the co-creator of famous free database MySql has created a website to garner support for saving the database from Oracle's acquisition of Sun. So far he has gathered more than 19002 petitions (according to the website) from MySql users, developers and customers. Here is the petition if you would like to support.
